Getting Coverage for a Partial Disability

There are sometimes two definitions of partial disability and you should become aware of the difference. One is the loss of income definition, which indicates that, if your income has declined by some percentage, you are eligible for partial disability benefits. The other, often called the “loss of time and duties” provision, basically relates to your lack of ability to spend a full day at your specialty. Read your insurance contract to learn how your insurer defines these items. Refer to your insurance policy contract for specific information regarding your coverage and for actual terms, conditions and exclusions. The above statements are general in nature and may or may not reflect the actual terms of your insurance policy.
